WonderCon 2007 Wrap

So WonderCon 2007 is in the books.

I would have blogged about it from the convention, but our hotel was under reconstruction and they didn’t have Wifi. So be it.

First off, thanks to everyone who had a good hard look at KlawBerry. Many of you were even kind enough to pick up a copy, which was doubly cool of you. If you like KlawBerry, please show the book to people. Behold the power of the KLAW!

The Moscone North had an odd vibe to it. I’m not sure what it was, but it just felt quite a bit different from last year’s WonderCon. Nonetheless, we had a great time, even if it was kinda strange. Maybe it’s just me. I’m kinda odd.

We picked up a few cool things, including Ragnar’s “King of the Road” and David Colman’s “The Art of Animal Character Design“. Both are excellent books for certain.

We also got to chat with all kinds of fine artists including; Attaboy, Ryan Claytor, Paul Horn, Gris Grimly, Rhode Montijo, Ben Walker, Mike Mignola & family, Jamie Baker, Joe Pekar, Alberto Ruiz, Rafael Navarro, and many more. It was a big amount of fun and each and every one of these guys is hugely talented.

San Francisco is a place of wonder, though I probably don’t have to tell you that. There was a minor earthquake there while we were there, though I only heard my own belly rumbles. The city is filled with tons of small/cool shops, stores, and restaurants… a wonder of a modern city. I ate Japanese, Chinese, and Italian, methinks.

I also got to see the Super7 Store, which is supercool. I wish that we sold more books though, so I could buy some of their tasty toys. I’m jonesin for a big transparent mecha-gojiru! On a good note, the owner contacted me about carrying my books, so I’m really excited about that.

Alright, that’s my update.
